2024 IBWAA Awards Ballot

As a lifetime IBWAA member, I’m privileged to vote for the annual postseason awards. IBWAA ballots were sent in mid-September and closed at the end of the month. I turned in my ballot towards the end of the deadline. I thought about announcing my picks in early October but decided to wait until MLB announced its own awards finalists on the MLB Network.

Voters were asked to select the following:

  • Most Valuable Player: 1st place through 10th place

  • Cy Young: 1st place through 5th place

  • Rookie of the Year: 1st place through 5th place

  • Manager of the Year: 1st place through 3rd place

  • Reliever of the Year: 1st place through 3rd place

National League

MVP: Shohei Ohtani, Matt Chapman, Ketel Marte, Francisco Lindor, Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, Paul Skenes, Hunter Greene, Elly De La Cruz, William Contreras

Cy Young: Chris Sale, Zack Wheeler, Paul Skenes, Hunter Greene, Dylan Cease

Rookie of the Year: Paul Skenes, Jackson Merrill, Jackson Chourio, Shota Imanaga, Masyn Winn

Manager of the Year: Pat Murphy, Carlos Mendoza, Mike Shildt

Reliever of the Year: Ryan Helsley, Raisel Iglesias, Kyle Finnegan

American League

MVP: Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr., Gunnar Henderson, Jarren Daran, Juan Soto, José Ramírez, Tarik Skubal, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Brent Rooker, Riley Greene

Danielle Solzman is native of Louisville, KY, and holds a BA in Public Relations from Northern Kentucky University and a MA in Media Communications from Webster University.
